LaneLords – Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-21
LaneLords ("the game") is published by Global Transformation Office (GTO), SAS, SIREN 991 211 368, 200 rue de la Croix Nivert, 75015 Paris, France, contact@playlanelords.com ("we"). This policy explains what data the game collects, why, and the choices you have.
Summary
- No email, no real name, no contacts, no location, no photos. To play online, the game creates an anonymous guest account with a nickname you can change (for example "Sir Kobold#1234").
- Gameplay analytics and crash reports are collected only if you agree. You can change your answer at any time in Settings (gear button on the home screen) → Privacy.
- You can download everything we store about you, or delete your account and all your data, in Settings → Account.
- The iOS and Android apps show ads: rewarded videos only when you ask for one (to double your coins), and at most one full-screen ad every few matches, never during a match. Ads partners ask for your consent through Google's consent form and, on iPhone, Apple's "Allow tracking" prompt. The web version shows no ads.
What we collect, and why
| Data | When | Why | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gameplay events: app opened, tutorial steps (reached, completed, skipped), match start (your race, the opponent's race, map, difficulty), match end (result, length, lives left, income, hero level, creeps sent and killed, gold spent on defense, sends and research), leaving a match, settings changes (speed, sound, music, map, difficulty, bulk sends), your privacy answer | Only with your consent to "Gameplay analytics" | Balance the game, find where players get stuck, improve the tutorial | GameAnalytics ApS (Denmark) |
| Technical data sent with these events: a random player ID created by the game (shown in Privacy settings), a random session id, platform (web / iOS / Android), app version, device model and OS version, screen size, language, approximate country derived from the IP address (the IP itself is not stored by us) | Same | Same | GameAnalytics |
| Crash and error reports: error message, stack trace, app version, device and browser type | Only with your consent to "Crash reports" | Fix bugs | Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA) |
| Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device data and ad interaction data | In the apps, when an ad is requested; personalized only as allowed by your consent and Apple's tracking setting | Show ads that keep the game free, measure them, prevent fraud | Google AdMob (Google Ireland Ltd.) and AppLovin Corp. (mediated network) |
| Ad events: ad shown, video completed, estimated ad revenue | With your consent to "Gameplay analytics" | Understand which placements players like, cap ads | GameAnalytics |
| Online account: a random account id, a secret key (we store only a hash of it), your nickname and tag, creation and last-seen dates, an optional recovery code (stored as a hash) | When you first play online or open your profile | Let you play online, show your name to opponents and on the leaderboard, move your progress to a new phone | Our game server on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) |
| Online play: your matches (date, races, result, length, ranked or not, the actions played so the server can check them), your rating, wins and losses per season and per race | When you play online | Fair matchmaking, rankings, cheat prevention | Cloudflare |
| Cloud save: your progression (coins, level, chests, quests, campaign stars, unlocked races, cosmetics) | When you have an online account | Keep your progress if you change phone | Cloudflare |
| A one-way hash of your IP address, kept for at most one hour | Each request to the game server | Rate limiting against abuse; the address itself is never stored | Cloudflare |
Stored only on your device: ad pacing counters, your settings (race theme, map, sound, music, bulk sends, mini-map position), whether you played the tutorial, your last 5 match replays, and your privacy answers. Your progression is kept on the device too, and copied to the cloud save above once you have an online account.
